Mike Sorensen- articulated a realistic timeline of what I should expect. He was my first point of contact and he put my mind at ease instantaneously. I knew I was in good hands!
Jackie Shelvey- exhibited expert real estate sales counsel during the entire duration of each of the transactions. Through the ups and downs of the emotional roller coaster of a transaction of this magnitude she steered us through the pitfalls and kept focused throughout, i.e. eyes on the prize: “a sale”. She was always a phone call or email away and responded promptly to my calls and emails.
John McGeough- Contacted me regarding whether or not the property was underwater and gave it to me straight up, no nonsense. He did not sugarcoat anything which I respect immensely. He helped strongly in my decision to go through with this type of intricate sale and get to a better place in our lives.
Anthony Lamacchia- provided relief to terrible setback of epic proportions. At one point, we had a willing and able buyer, fully signed/executed contract along with the banks approval but met resistance from the investors FannieMae…therefore no deal. Anthony pressed on with others and used every legal resource and maneuvering until he was able to sway them to do the right thing and get to close.
Adam Pasciscia- captured the property in its best light to help entice buyers. His expert photography of the property highlighted its strong points and minimized its weaknesses visually, a feat in and of itself. It’s worth saying he kept his composure while encountering difficult tenants. He stood firm with his pricing assumptions and had empirical data to support his findings.
Angela Walker- provided superior management of the listing and the closing. Any unexpected wrinkles were quickly ironed out. All deadlines were met on time and there were no hiccups at the closing.
DORNER LAW TEAM
Hillery Dorner- exhibited her well-honed real estate skills throughout the entire transaction. She offered high level counsel on very intricate situations specific to my unique needs. Her own personal involvement in real estate investments was priceless and made it extremely easy for us to connect. Her relevant background was instrumental and significantly helped us get to close smoothly and efficiently.
Dave Karoly- Negotiated the most favorable terms possible, exceeding my expectations by far. His superior financial background spoke volumes to my situation. He is a personable professional eager to help. His calm demeanor and wit helped immensely throughout the transaction, especially at the most trying times. Carolyn Benoit- helped immensely with all the intricacies of the purchase and sale agreements. We recently went through a successful short sale of our home in Derry, New Hampshire with the services of McGeough Lamacchia Realty.

I’d like to state up front that McGeough Lamacchia Realty is a top notch real estate company and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any person looking to short sale a distressed property or in the purchase of a new home. In my case I was the co-owner of a 2-family residence looking to sell as a result of a divorce and financial hardship. Due to the current economic climate the sale of our house would be for a substantial amount less than what we owed. In an effort to learn more about short sales we did some research on how to conduct one and quickly came to the realization that there is no one standard out there (frightening yes!). We found a real estate company (not MLR) that advertised short sales and we quickly sought their assistance. This would then transpire into a yearlong process of being misled and lied to. It became apparent that this company was new to short sales and was falsely stringing us along. Nearly defeated and facing foreclosure we came across McGeough Lamacchia Realty. While being skeptical at first we set up an appointment and gave it one last shot and thank God with did! From the first meeting at their main office in which they explained the short sale process to the final closing on the house, they were easy to work with, responsive and reassuring. They handled everything from dealing with the banks, buyers, and in my case the Department of Housing and Urban Development as well. Their short sale specialists were excellent. They were extremely knowledgeable and were in direct contact with us throughout the whole process, checking in on a weekly basis. They without a doubt provided a sense of much needed comfort. In the end, we sold our house and looking at the commission they took I’m not sure that they came close to breaking even on the deal looking at all the resources they provided to help us sell the house. After losing my job in July of 2011 (via job cuts), and with no way to secure an income, the possibility of losing everything was quickly transitioning from a worst-nightmare scenario to a cold reality. In June of 2008 my son was diagnosed with a terminal illness. While my family and I were trying to balance this new part of our lives I was layed-off from my job of eight years. The dramatic drop in pay from my job to unemployment left us with the realization that we would need to sell the house. I called the realtor that I had used to purchase the house and we decided that a short sale was the only way that we could sell it.
After 2 years of fighting with the bank and chasing my realtor for results from house showings and potential buyers my realtor basically fired me. I was told that there was nothing more that they could do for me.
My wife had been telling me for about a year to call “those guys on TV.” I had no place else to turn the house was abandoned, my credit was getting ruined and my focus was on this house instead of my son in the fight of his life. I called McGeough Lamacchia, “those guys on TV,” the call that I should have made from the beginning.

We had called McGeough Lamacchia in May of 2011. Two weeks later we had a buyer, after one day on the market. That buyer fell through because of the banks counter offer. The house went back on the market and after two weeks we had a buyer. The whole process took about four and a half months. In that time I didn’t have to worry about anything McGeough Lamacchia took everything over. They need a couple of documents from me and we faxed signatures back and forth but everything else was on them. My focus was where it should be on my family.

I learned a lot through this process some was just expecting excellence in customer service. McGeough Lamacchia was in constant contact with me any questions or concerns were dealt with immediately. The most important part of the “short sale” process that I noticed was the relationship between the realtor and the bank. McGeough Lamacchia has an excellent relationship with the banks.
Now, I am free from the stress of the house, I am working to rebuild my credit and spending time with my family. My son is going in for a “Bone Marrow Transplant” on Tuesday to hopefully remove this disease from his body. A couple of weeks ago a gift basket arrived at my door it was from McGeough Lamacchia “Thanking Me” for giving them my business. I couldn’t stop thinking “They Thanked Me.”
